The Latvian luge brothers Andris and Juris Sics have ended their professional career in doubles, the Latvian luge association announced in Riga.

The duo took part in a total of five Winter Olympics and wrote winter sports history in Latvia. The brothers were the first athletes from the Baltic EU country to secure a medal at two consecutive Winter Games: in 2010 in Vancouver they won silver and in 2014 in Sochi bronze in the doubles and team relay. There were also several top placements at world and European championships.

In a video released by the association, the two brothers recalled the beginnings of their long careers and thanked each other for working together.
