Robin Gosens and AC Fiorentina receive a slap in Rome. Nevertheless, there is little change in the table situation.

Fiorentina suffered a 4-0 defeat at AS Roma in Serie A on Monday. Nevertheless, staying in the league is within reach for the team led by 24-time national player Robin Gosens – because their pursuer Cremonese lost at the same time.

Shortly before, the table was 18th. US Cremonese lost 1:2 against Lazio Rome. The gap between Florence and the relegation places remained at nine points – three game days before the end of the season. One point would have been enough to secure relegation.

Gosens was in the starting line-up and played through. The 31-year-old recently missed the game against Sassuolo due to a thigh injury. The goals conceded came from Gianluca Mancini (13th), the Brazilian Wesley (17th), Mario Hermoso (34th) and Niccolò Pisilli (58th).

Florence is in 16th place with 37 points, followed by Cremonese with 28 points. With the victory, AS Roma jumped past Como 1907 to fifth place – the rank is enough for the Europa League – and stayed in touch with the Champions League places.
