The series tells the story of Roberta Valente (Maria Vera Ratti). The determined and edgy young professional, after obtaining one of the best results in the notary competition, decides to return to her hometown. In Sorrento she meets her aunts who raised her and her longtime boyfriend, Stefano (Alessio Lapice), with whom he is planning to marry. His entry into the notary Carrano’s office marks the beginning of his career: a new environment, made up of balances to conquer, colleagues to get to know and rules to learn. Also waiting for her is a stern assistant who is not inclined to compromise.
Outside the work environment, Roberta immerses herself in city lifeforming bonds with people very different from her, such as Leda (Flavia Gatti), a direct and energetic bartender, and Vito (Erasmo Genzini), a young fisherman. The first case he deals with concerns a complicated inheritance linked to a daughter he never recognizedbecomes a test that will highlight his intuition.

In the second episode of the series, produced by Rai Fiction and Rodeo Drive, entitled 48, Dead man speakingRoberta’s life enters a more complex phase. As the wedding day approaches, an unexpected event undermines the certainties built up to that moment, forcing her to reconsider choices and priorities.. The past comes back to make itself felt just when the future seems clear. At the same time, Stefano is struggling with an important decision: to break away from the family business to embark on a new path. Between personal tensions and new professional responsibilities, the notary thus finds herself having to maintain a difficult balance.

He sees the world in his own way. Leda and Roberta seem to be poles apart, but a common thread ties them together». Vito (Erasmo Genzini), Leda’s ex, a fisherman who divides his time between a thousand odd jobs to support his family since his father became invalid. He has a frank and gruff character, but a big heart.
Sorrento, location of the series
One of the central elements of the series is the choice of locations. The drama was filmed between Sorrento, the Sorrento peninsula and various areas of the coast. «Sorrento is a fundamental element of this story – declared director Pirozzi – the city is not just a postcard, but a real character which, with its warm light and bright colours, acts as a counterpoint to the internal rigidity of the protagonist, creating a visual contrast between the order that she tries to impose on herself and the unpredictable vitality of the context that surrounds her”.

The title of the song, written by Matteo Buzzanca, is A stone’s throw from the sea. «A song that I interpreted with great enthusiasm», wrote the singer on social media. It is the title track of the soundtrack of Roberta Valente notary in Sorrento. Matteo Buzzanca is also the composer of the original music for the drama, which take inspiration from Mediterranean sounds and inflections.
