Robèrt van Beckhoven is in pocket and ash because his hospitality scandal has entered the media, but Victor Vlam thinks it is a case of his own fault. “He used Heel Holland Bakt.”

Tears with Tuiten: Robèrt van Beckhoven thinks it is terrible that the media has entered how many people he has duped with his failed hospitality adventure. That cozy pastry chef from Heel Holland Bakt has picked up a euro or a thousand on a whole battalion of ordinary people – that is called crowdfunding – for a new business.

Lost all the money

Well, very little of that hospitality tent ended up and those people just lost their money. Where did it go? It’s a mystery. Baking magician Robèrt and his wife do not want to give openness. We only find them with a box of tissues on page five of the AD. But is that crying all just right?

Media cakes Victor Vlam does not think so. He points out that Robèrt’s crowdfunding campaign was just so successful because he deployed his fame of the Max-Hit Heel Bakt broadcaster. If he had to go to a normal financier, he should have submitted a hard business plan. And he managed to circumvent that in this way …

Spotlight

If Robèrt uses/abuses his popularity of Heel Holland Bakt in this way, then of course he should not cry if the spotlights are there if things go wrong. “The problem is that Robèrt van Beckhoven has used his fame to get money,” says Victor in the podcast The Communicado’s.

“In other words: because he is a big name that has a sympathetic image, he has not so much attracted business investors or people who believe in the product he is developing, but he has attracted people who find him sympathetic. Also people who have invested a modest amount of 500 euros. “

“There it pinches”

In other words: those ‘investors’ from Robèrt are just Max viewers and the whole of Holland Bakt is used as a kind of ATM. “And there it pinches him, because those are people who first found Robèrt very sympathetic and thought: what a nice man and everything he does is a success because he can bake so terribly well.”

Robèrt thought: “Crowdfunding, that’s actually just picking up money from naive max viewers who like me.” And then not only his business, but also his reputation, collapsed. “It is naive and a bit stupid what he did. He should never have used his fame to get crowdfunding. “

‘Rades on Max’

Co-host Lars Duursma, who is a communication expert, finds it doubtful that the NPO is used in this way. “He does indeed use that program indirectly to raise money. If things go wrong, it will shine on your work and the program. ”

Victor does point to a compensation scheme, but: “He treats them again very chillly by immediately excluding people who have not responded in time. They don’t get anything unless they go to court. With a business investor I find that logical, with a fan I don’t find that logical. That just seems unsympathetic again. “

‘Breaks my clog’

What does Victor think that Robèrt now opens a baking tin full of tears in the AD? “Now my clog breaks. It is annoying to get criticism, but even if it is unjustified: you are not destroyed, you get criticism. It has also not been that much in the media. “

“On the contrary, it has been relatively limited in the media, so the idea that he is being destroyed is greatly exaggerated and unjustified. I always find that kind of crying behavior so incredibly problematic. Self -pity is really very bad. ”
