Robert Plant and Alison Krauss cover Led Zeppelin on tour

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have been on the “Raise the Roof” tour since Thursday (June 1). Also included is a festival appearance in Stuttgart at the Jazz Open (July 16) and a gig in Berlin (Zitadelle Spandau, July 20).

In Canandaigua, New York, the starting signal for the tour was fired, during which both played songs from their two albums together, of course. It is obvious what many fans of Led Zeppelin are interested in: are there also tracks by the legendary band to be heard? The simple and beautiful answer: Yes!

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss cover Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.”

Plant and Krauss celebrated the Led Zep classic “Rock And Roll” at their opening concert. A premiere, because the two have never played the piece together before. A rather wildly plucked violin accompanied the track.

There were also cover versions of “The Battle of Evermore” and “When the Levee Breaks” as well as “Please Read The Letter”, which Plant originally recorded with Jimmy Page in 1998 for their joint LP “Walking into Clarksdale”, but later also sang with Krauss .
