Already in 2016, Oasis member Noel Gallagher divided a picture on Instagram on which he sits at a table with Robert de Niro. In the caption it says: “So we were in the south of France for a few days and at a 17-hour lunch in the house of our friends this … This … actually happens !!!”
“What was your band called again?”
He later told more about lunch compared to “talk sport”. The two would have met in the house of a common friend, supposedly it is said to have been U2 singer Bono. Everyone would have sitting together for several hours. The diversity of topics seemed to have been great and ranged from De Niros famous films to Donald Trump, who was still a US presidential candidate at the time.
It seems that de Niro did not know the band Oasis at all. He is said to have asked Gallagher to write down the name of the band in which he was.
He is still not a Oasis fan
In an interview with “NME” Robert de Niro was recently asked if he had now listened to Oasis’s music. However, his answer to this is “no”. The actor then laughs at his own words. In the meantime, however, he knew that Noel and Liam Gallagher have teamed up again for a large Reunion tour. “I found out about it from a friend who knows him,” explains the Oscar winner.
The music of Oasis is probably just not its taste, because it calls classic American singers like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett as his favorite artist. “As a child, as a teenager, I liked to hear Rock’n’roll,” adds the 81-year-old.
