RRome, 30 December (askanews) – From “Better Man”, about the story of Robbie Williams, arrives in theaters on January 1, 2025; in this preview clip we tell how the film directed by Michael Gracey was made.
“I’m Robbie Williams, I’m one of the biggest pop stars in the world. But my story cannot be told in an ordinary way. I’ve always seen myself as a little less evolved… so that’s how you’ll see me“said the British pop star.
For the director “the whole film is an impossible dream” and the singer himself said he didn’t understand how it was made.
World premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in the Gala section, written and directed by Michael Gracey, who returns to the big screen after the success of “The Greatest Showman”, the film traces the career of Robbie Williams, from his debut with Take That, the boy band idol of teenagers, to his solo success with more than 80 million records sold, going through personal and professional ups and downs. In the film he is represented by a monkey, created in CGI, a choice that highlights the psychological contradictions of a showman, between talent, charisma and fragility.
“Better Man” (distributed by Lucky Red) will have special screenings before its release on January 1st “sing along” will premiere on December 31st, to sing the songs from the film in karaoke version.
