The RMI predicts snow showers on Monday morning that will move from West and East Flanders towards the southeast. Depending on when exactly those showers fall, this could make for a potentially dangerously slippery morning rush hour. The road surface temperatures are currently below freezing point everywhere in Flanders, which can also cause ice spots on Sunday evening and during the night on Monday. After all, there is a lot of snow and meltwater on roads and cycle paths.

The gritting services have been active throughout Flanders over the last twelve nights. Despite the road salt, it can still become slippery, especially during and shortly after a snow shower. AWV therefore calls on you to drive calmly and keep sufficient distance.
