RMI warns: the interior will be confronted with gusts of wind, hail and (thunder) showers tonight | Instagram VTM NEWS

The RMI warns of showers from France that will move to Flanders via the Meuse valley this night. Rain with thunderstorms, gusts of wind and hail is expected tonight, especially deeper inland. Tomorrow afternoon code yellow will be in force for the whole country. There is also a chance of heavy rainfall, hail and strong wind gusts of 75-100 km/h.

Tomorrow will start dry and sunny, but again warm and unstable air masses are drifting in from France. This creates storms from the French border that move over a large part of the country. According to the RMI, these can be intense with hail, heavy winds and a lot of precipitation in a short time. Where exactly, that’s hard to predict.

In addition, locally more than 20 liters per square meter can fall in an hour. In 24 hours – calculated from Tuesday morning to Wednesday night – 25 mm is expected, but very locally this can rise to 40 or 50 mm. Code yellow therefore applies to all provinces. The temperature rises to 24 to 29 degrees locally. Due to the high humidity level, it feels oppressively warm.

Wednesday it will become drier, although a local shower in the center or southeast is not excluded. The mercury then climbs to a maximum of 27 degrees.

Arriving after a warm and fairly sunny Wednesday Thursday heavy showers again. Due to the supply of a northerly wind, it will then be a lot less warm with 20 to 24 degrees.

Friday A few light showers may still occur, but this is not much. Dry weather prevails over the weekend. In addition, the sun gradually gains more space and temperatures rise again to summer values.
