In the Abe Lenstra Stadium in Heerenveen, RKC Waalwijk managed to grab three points against Heerenveen on Saturday evening. Where the Waalwijkers still faced a 1-0 deficit at halftime, they turned the game around completely after the break and ended with a 1-4 victory.

In the 35th minute attacker Sydney van Hooijdonk shot Heerenveen into a 1-0 lead. The ten minutes until the break were exciting for RKC, because Heerenveen put the pressure on and a good save from keeper Vaessen was needed to keep that score.

Other match
Fifteen minutes after the break, RKC started to get into the game well and Florian Jozefzoon, who came in at half-time, drew the score again on a pass from Mats Seuntjens. Seuntjens’ foot turned out to be worth gold for RKC, as he was also involved in the 1-2 and 1-3 scored by midfielders Julian Lelieveld and Yassin Oukili.

In the 94th minute, Florian Jozefzoon scored his second of the evening on a pass from Saïd Bakari to put the final score of 1-4 on the scoreboard.

With this victory over the direct competitor, RKC Waalwijk climbs over Heerenveen in the standings and now occupies 8th place, with 32 points from 23 games. Next week, a Brabant get-together will follow for the Waalwijkers when they take on PSV at home.
