RKC Waalwijk dream stays alive, FC Eindhoven takes play-offs

With a victory over FC Volendam (4-1), RKC Waalwijk kept their chances of participating in the play-offs in the Eredivisie for European football in their own hands. FC Eindhoven, on the other hand, has already secured participation in the play-offs in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening.

The team of RKC coach Joseph Oosting is currently in eighth place in the Eredivisie with 41 points. The numbers 5 to 8 of the final standings enter the play-offs at the end of the season.

Yassin Oukili put RKC in the lead after just 4 minutes of play. Florian Jozefzoon doubled the lead in the 35th minute with a nice marker over the goalkeeper of Volendam, after a through ball from Pelle Clement. Shortly after the break, Mats Seuntjens scored the 3-0.

Substitute Francesco Antonucci did something back on behalf of Volendam a few minutes later, but coach Wim Jonk’s team did not get any further. In the final phase, Julen Lobete, who had just come in, made it 4-1 for RKC.

Party at FC Eindhoven
In Eindhoven, on the other hand, it was already party Friday night. FC Eindhoven was the only team from Brabant to win in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening and thus goes to the play-offs. Out at Roda JC it became 1-2 in favor of the Eindhoven team. A late penalty from Amevor decided the game.

Helmond Sport and Willem II also came into action on Friday evening. Helmond Sport was against VVV in-house. Both teams scored once and each got a point.

Willem II also played a draw. At Telstar, the score remained at 0-0. Incidentally, Telstar still seemed to score in extra time, but then it turned out that the referee had already blown his whistle for a violation and the goal was cancelled.
