RKC kicked itself into the left row in the Eredivisie on Wednesday evening. The team from Waalwijk won the make-up game against Go Ahead Eagles 3-1. With 25 points from 19 matches, RKC is experiencing the best season in ages.
Mats Seuntjens put the home team ahead after 24 minutes. He hit after a cross from Yassin Oukili. Shortly before, Go Ahead had claimed a penalty after an alleged foul on Mats Deijl. The VAR looked at it for a while, but saw no reason to intervene.
In a beautiful way, the formation from Deventer came in the extra time of the first half at 1-1. José Fontán suddenly took the ball on the shoe after a free kick from Oliver Edvardsen and left goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen without a chance.

In the second half, however, RKC made the difference. In the 71st minute, RKC ran out again. Michiel Kramer scored with a header. With the assist, Seuntjens, who came over from Fortuna Sittard in December, was also important in this goal.
Not much later, Yassin Oukili shot in the 3-1 beautifully, after he had also received the ball from Seuntjens. Oukili stole the ball in from the underside of the crossbar.

With the 3-1 on the scoreboard, RKC finds itself in ninth place. The game was initially scheduled for Saturday, January 21, but due to the wintry conditions, the field in the Mandemakers Stadium was unplayable that day.
