Goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen of RKC Waalwijk overslept on Sunday and is therefore missing in the away game against NEC in the Eredivisie. Vaessen is normally the number 1 under the bar. Reserve keeper Joel Pereira is in goal against NEC.
“Etienne overslept. And yes for a long time,” said trainer Joseph Oosting before kick-off at ESPN. “On a match day you have to focus. When Etienne came to the club, I approached him and said that he is not in the selection.”
According to Oosting, there will be another conversation with the keeper. “Etienne will come up with an explanation tomorrow. This race is too important for us to talk about Etienne.”
