Rioting PSV hooligans attack NEC supporters ‘out of the blue’

A group of NEC supporters was attacked by a group of PSV supporters on Wednesday evening after the PSV-NEC match (3-2) had ended. This happened in the ‘Om de Hoek’ parking garage within walking distance of the stadium. According to a police spokesperson, the attack by the Eindhoven hooligans came ‘completely out of nowhere’. No one was injured, according to police information. There is also no report of abuse from Nijmegen.

The attack by the Eindhoven hooligans was filmed and can be seen on the Dumpert website. The images show that the Nijmegen supporters quietly walk to the parking garage in groups. The group was accompanied by a few officers and a few officers on bicycles.

Something goes wrong in the parking garage. Fifteen to twenty hooligans suddenly appear out of nowhere. They have hoods on so that their faces cannot be seen. While shouting and screaming, part of the Nijmegen supporters is attacked. There would have been a lot of punches left and right.

No clues
“The officers present immediately called up additional units. But when they arrived at the garage, the rioters had already disappeared.” In the video it is heard that the fleeing rioters shouted ‘Eindhoven hooligans’.

According to the police spokesperson, there were no indications of disturbances around the games. “It was a calm atmosphere and the reason is completely unclear.”
