Riot in the Scottish football final – The police started a search

On Sunday, Scotland saw a fiery football match when the dear blood enemies from Glasgow, Rangers and Celtic met in the final of the League Cup.

The expected match event got off to a nasty and violent start. Daily Record reported that there was a big mass fight between fans in front of the Hampden stadium, in which dozens of people participated.

The police had a lot of work to get the situation under control. The fighters traded blows and threw things. Authorities made no arrests, but have now launched a search to find those involved in the riot.

The police have asked the country’s football association and football clubs for help in the search.

– The police acted quickly in challenging circumstances in a situation that became completely chaotic. It is fortunate that no one was seriously injured. The Scottish police intends to approach the football management and the clubs and expect from them an assessment of the situation and measures to promote the matter, the police informed, according to the source.

The final ended with a 2–1 victory for Celtic and a trophy celebration. Finnish national team player Glen Kamara played in Rangers’ opener and came on as a substitute in the 64th minute.
