Now Beatles drummer Ringo Starr makes it clear: John Lennon’s voice was not replaced by AI in the final Beatles song. After the release of “Now and Then,” discussions about the use of AI arose on social media. After Paul McCartney commented on the allegations on Twitter, Ringo Starr also emphasized how AI was used in the creation of the song.
John Lennon’s voice restored using AI
Through the use of AI, John Lennon’s demo recording of the song was restored. In an interview with Aarp, Starr said: “There were terrible rumors that it wasn’t John’s voice in the song, but AI. Paul and I would never have done that. It’s a beautiful song and a beautiful way to end this chapter.”
John Lennon would have been happy about the song
McCartney also commented on the creation process of the Beatles AI song. He would have had doubts about whether using AI to complete the song was right. But he is sure that John Lennon would have been in favor of finishing the piece. Working on it felt like being reunited with John Lennon.
It’s not just Lennon’s voice that’s in the song
While working on “Now and Then,” Paul McCartney kept imagining what his bandmate would have said about certain changes. And he would have made decisions based on this standard. So there’s a lot of John Lennon in the last Beatles song, not just his restored voice.
In November there were more reasons for Beatle fans to be happy: On November 10th. The band released their albums “1962-1966” (“The Red Album”) and “1967-1970” (“The Blue Album”) in a new and expanded manner.
