Mona Keijzer (Housing and Spatial Planning) says 244.3 million to 16 regions for the sixth round of Deals. In total, with more than 80 regional deals, € 1.85 billion is invested in strengthening regions throughout the Netherlands.

The 16 selected proposals for region Deals come from all over the country and are a mix between rural areas, urban environment, Caribbean Netherlands and regions on the edges of the country. With this region Deals, investments are being made in existence, liveability and sense of community in order to improve the life, living and working of residents and entrepreneurs.

Now it is known which regions have been selected make further agreements and together they work out the proposals for regional deals. This is done in consultation with all parties involved: governments, entrepreneurs, social organizations and knowledge institutions.

€ 1.8 billion for regional deals

This is the sixth and final round region deals; More than 65 deals have already been closed in five earlier rounds and 16 proposals have been selected in this final round. € 950 million was available for the first three rounds, the budget for the fourth, fifth and sixth round was € 900 million. In total, € 1.85 billion was invested with more than 80 regional deals. In this way we build strong regions to live, live and work well.

How does a region deal work?

When closing a region deal, the regions come up with plans and ideas to tackle assignments. The government grant is a one -off and amounts to a minimum of € 5 million and a maximum of € 40 million.

27 proposals were submitted in the sixth round. The assessment always focused on how the approach contributes to strengthening the broad prosperity of residents and entrepreneurs in the relevant region.
