Right-wing series of attacks in Neukölln – this is where the accused are hiding

By Ole Kroning

Masked hate behind bulletproof glass: These two neo-Nazis are said to be responsible for the worst series of extremist attacks that Neukölln has ever seen!

Highest security level in the trial against Sebastian T. (36, ex-chairman of the district NPD, criminal record) and Tilo P. (39, AfD member, no criminal record) before the Berlin district court. With Samuel B. (38) and Oliver W. (48), two other alleged accomplices in the series, which has been ongoing since 2017, have been charged. W. has called in sick. Judge Ulrike Hauser threatened coercive measures against the absent right-wing extremist.

It takes half an hour to read out the indictment: arson, threats, property damage, use of anti-constitutional symbols and also subsidy fraud. Specifically, it is about the arson attacks on the cars of left-wing politician Ferat Kocak (43) and bookseller Heinz Ostermann on February 1, 2017.

Only these two of 70 suspected right-wing extremist attacks on dissidents in Neukölln are blamed on the accused. For the rest, the evidence was insufficient…

In the district they are also said to have pasted hate slogans such as “Antifa Hurensohn” and “Headshot”. A first trial against the neo-Nazis had to be suspended in August 2020 because the LKA had investigated sloppily. Sebastian T. is also said to have cheated when getting Hartz IV and scammed 5,000 euros in Corona aid.

When asked if they want to comment, Sebastian T. whispers: “No information at the moment.” His lawyer Mirko Röder speaks for Tilo P.: “My client is innocent!”

However, he regrets that Ferat Kocak experienced “personal suffering” from the car that was set on fire right next to his house and carport. Kocak is a joint plaintiff and fears for the life of his parents who are sleeping in the house.

“From my perspective, it was not an attack on my car, but an attack on the life and limb of my family and me,” said Kocak. To be continued on Wednesday.
