Protests have been taking place in Kazakhstan since January 2. Demonstrators demand a change of regime, an increase in wages and pensions, a decrease in the retirement age, prices for food, gas and gasoline, utilities, eyewitnesses of the rally in the former capital of Alma-Ata told RBC.
