Royalty expert Rick Evers is very pissed off at RTL Boulevard, because the show section hardly finds him credits gives for his mega scoop on King Charles. “This is very pathetic.”
The Dutch translation of the book Endgame about the British royal family is taken off the shelves after a discovery by royalty journalist Rick Evers. King Charles’ name is linked to a racist comment about the skin color of baby Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Riot over Charles
It is remarkable because no name is mentioned in the English original. After Rick posted his discovery on X, a huge riot broke out worldwide and he already spoke to countless foreign media. The author of the book, royalty expert Omid Scobie, denied to RTL Boulevard that he ever released any names.
Rick’s discovery even led to King Charles being asked about the issue at the COP28 climate conference in Dubai this morning. “I’m fine… Just about,” he responded. “I recently had a birthday that made me very old, and I am still recovering from that.”
Rick quite pissed off
RTL Boulevard has been celebrating Rick’s discovery for days, but does so with their own royalty expert: Jeroen Snel. And according to Tina Nijkamp, they score quite high viewing figures. “Their news the day before yesterday about the British Royal Family and interview Omid Scobie was a wonderful scoop. Maybe that helped extra?”, she writes.
And that comment resonates with Rick. He’s writing down today Insta: “Well, Tina Nijkamp, when is something a first…? Boulie spins it very pathetically as their scoop. 🥲 But it only came 19 hours (!) after I reported about this.”
‘What’s the scoop?’
It is clear to everyone that he was the first to do this, says Rick. “In the meantime, the British media called me and asked the publisher to remove everything, because the book had to be taken off the market. Long after that, RTL Boulevard broadcasted. What’s the scoop?”
In the online reporting, RTL Boulevard did briefly refer to Rick. “RTL Boulevard itself was previously convinced who had the scoop, long before the broadcast started. 😂”
