Herpertz Bevo was looking for a new head coach after Jo Smeets said goodbye last November. Danny van Katwijk was subsequently appointed as interim trainer. In the meantime, Bevo started the search for a definitive successor for Smeets. According to the club, it was found in Curfs. “The technical staff indicates that Curfs is very driven and tactically strong. His ambitions and his development fit very well with Bevo, which has a lot of up-and-coming talent in its ranks. As a Limburger, he is also close to Bevo’s association culture.”

He then coached the women of HandbaL Venlo for four seasons and was a trainer at Vlug and Lenig from Geleen for two seasons. Since 2019, he has been a trainer for the women of Sint Truiden in the Belgian Eredivisie.

In addition to the arrival of the new trainer, the Panningse handball club announces that almost the entire selection will be retained for next season. Only Nick de Kuyper and Jeroen van den Beucken leave Bevo. Curfs is looking forward to his new coaching job. “It is a very nice challenge to forge a new and successful whole for the team. And for me personally it is a great opportunity to take the step to BENE-League level with this beautiful Limburg team,” said Curfs.
