No return to the track as a pilot: Daniel Ricciardo confirms the withdrawal from the races. The Australian, 36 years old, had left the F1 full -time at the end of last season, replaced by Liam Lawon in Racing Bulls in the last few races. However, its future is well delineated. Through its social channels, in fact, Ricciardo himself has made official the new role of global ambassador of the Ford Sports Division. Curiously, the US brand will join Red Bull in 2026, the team with which Daniel has achieved the best results in F1.

Ricciardo did not use turns of words in his announcement: “Even if the days of the race are behind them, my love for everything concerning the four wheels will always remain high. For this reason I am proud to collaborate with Ford, becoming a global ambassador”. Daniel also explained what his duties will be: “I will work closely with the Ford Racing team, focusing in particular on the Raptor brand and on what this has become for many Ford customers”. The Australian concluded: “When I decided that the time had come to retire, I thought for a long time. I wanted to find the most authentic way to stay in contact with Motorsport. For me, running has always been fun. It made me happy and created memories that will last all my life”.

The world of races greets a pilot of great value, capable of totaling 32 podiums in F1. His overtaking with sudden trajectory changes. Maneuvers that made him famous in 2014, the year of his ascent at the top. In the first season with Red Bull, after three championships lived together with HRT and Toro Rosso, the Australian won three races, in Canada, Hungary and Belgium, resulting in the only one capable of interrupting the Mercedes monopoly and closing third in the World Cup. Ricciardo conquered four other successes at the helm of the Austrian single -seater. However, he never managed to enter the struggle for the title. Then the not very profitable passage to Renault, from 2019 to 2020, and the transfer to McLaren, with whom he took the last career affirmation, triumphing to Monza in 2021. Daniel concluded his career in F1 with Alpha Tauri and Racing Bulls, without collecting great results.
