Franck Ribery had a car accident in Italy on Sunday morning. The 38-year-old Salernitana attacker crashed into a traffic light as a co-driver, forcing him to be rushed to hospital.
The damage turned out to be less than that, various Italian media reported. That was later confirmed by his club. The attacker suffered a minor head injury. Salernitana reported that Ribéry would not train with the main force. It is not clear how long the offside player will be offside. There are fears of absence during the clash with Inter next Friday.
Ribéry has now left hospital and is given time by the club to recover at home. “After a car accident, footballer Franck Ribery, who was not driving the car, suffered a minor head injury,” his employer said in a statement.
Last place
The 38-year-old Ribery does not know how to stop. The Frenchman was without a club for several months, but signed a one-year contract with Salernitana in September. The French international has already appeared in sixteen Serie A games this season, in which he provided two assists. The former top striker of Bayern Munich occupies the last place in Italy with his team.
