Samuele Roveda, aka “Rhove”in addition to being a nationally renowned artist, he is also a great surfing enthusiast: in his frenetic life under the spotlight, the rapper Shaking find the time to dedicate yourself to a sport that is also a lifestyle. The ocean waves have always accompanied the life of a never banal artist, who has opened up exclusively to Active Journal.

Rhove, how did your passion for surfing come about?

“I started as a child in France, in Seignosse. I also have uncles who live in Lyon, but this is not connected to the fact that I started surfing in France. In general I owe a lot to my father, who always passed on these skills to me vibes: I feel different from my colleagues in music, I want to bring a positive mood”.

With the career you have, are you able to surf consistently?

“Obviously with music as my first thought I had to limit myself a bit, but despite this I always find my spaces in which to travel and surf trips: I’ve been to Africa, Asia and Portugal, obviously also in Italy.”

The most beautiful place you’ve surfed?

“Bali, Indonesia. And obviously I’m fond of Seignosse, even if it’s a difficult wave. But for me anyway, surfing is like a religious moment: I just need a bit of sun and the right people to be happy. I don’t ask Very”.

Your favorite surfers?

“Kelly Slater but also Rob Machado, for his mood of life”.

With your visibility, you can convey the passion for surfing to many people.

“I would like to be a point of reference for young kids who love surfing, even just to meet people in the water and have a laugh with them! I often organize surf trips with my fans.”

Surfing is very linked to music: what do you listen to besides trap?

“Obviously I love trap and the like, but I also listen to lighter music: I’m a big fan of reggae and surf music. It would be nice to be able to mix these genres and create something unique.”

So any advice for those who want to make music?

“Create your own sound and don’t be afraid to say what you think, in a unique way: there are a lot of people who make music and the important thing is to be different from others.”

Your reference rappers?

“Tiakola abroad, in Italy I would say Simba La Rue”.

But the ocean is very different from the street associated with the world of rap and trap…

“I grew up on the streets but I never lacked good things and food at home. Despite this, I found myself in situations where it could be easy to take a bad turn: for this reason, that world is a bit disgusting. Sometimes it can be attractive, but only for those who don’t live it. For me it was music, but it could also be parkour, urbex (which I practice) or art, or just the desire to rock and roll. get involved.”

“I don’t weigh a person’s worth based on their fame or money: I like going around, taking the train, being among people. I don’t want to play the part of the rich all my life.”

“Opening a huge music/sports centre, helping people and not stopping: I want to see the whole world to understand what help I can give.”
