Net Global Sivasspor published a statement on its social media account regarding Rey Manaj’s intervention against Barış Alper Yılmaz in the Galatasaray match. Here is the statement made by the red and white team:
Our Net Global Sivasspor hosted Galatasaray on our field yesterday in the 15th week match of the Trendyol Super League. We would like to state that, as a club, we carefully evaluated the incident regarding the intervention of our athlete Rey Manaj against Galatasaray football player Barış Alper Yılmaz in the last part of the match.
We do not approve of the action taken by our athlete Rey Manaj. However, we believe that this situation should not be interpreted as our player having a deliberate intention to harm Barış Alper Yılmaz. Such events that occur on the field are a part of football and arise entirely from instant reactions within the game.
Our club strongly condemns the excessive comments targeting Rey Manaj. It is clear that such attitudes that damage the fundamental values of sports harm the future of Turkish football.
We wish our national football player Barış Alper Yılmaz to get well soon and wish Galatasaray Sports Club success in their match against Malmö in the Europa League.
