Revival helps Royal HFC past competitor Jong Sparta Rotterdam

Royal HFC immediately did good business with the resumption of the second division. The team of trainer Gertjan Tamerus won 2-1 against Jong Sparta Rotterdam at the Spanjaardslaan. The Haarlem-squad now approaches number three by one point.

In a match that went both ways, Koninklijke HFC got the better chances before half-time. Although both teams went to rest with the glasses position, the gap was created just after the break. Mehmet Yuksel scored the 1-0 from a cross by Vincent Volkert. The good phase immediately after the break was reinforced by Jordy Hilterman, because the striker made the 2-0 in the 47th minute.

In the 65th minute, Jong Sparta came back into the game via Marcus Scholten. He took advantage of the fact that it was completely open for the home team. Koninklijke HFC then skilfully crossed the line and can therefore add three points.

Thanks to the win, Koninklijke HFC climbs to fifth place in the second division with 25 points from 15 games. This means it is only one point less than Jong Sparta Rotterdam.
