Let’s fall on the unpublished material, onto the forgotten B- or A-pages, onto the goodies from the archive. They expand Scissor Sisters, the debut of the Queeren Glam team from New York, which has been named after a lesbian sex practic, in an entertaining way. For example: “Electrobix”! That was the debut single in Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Ana Matronic in 2002. The then electroclash sound à la Fischerpooner or Peaches can be clearly heard. To do this, Shears, with the line “Your Legs Look Like Sticks”, makes fun of the fact that the muscle queens in the gay club apparently trained their upper arms and chest muscles, but have forgotten legs.

Never Skip Leg-Day! Today such a body shaming would probably also be shaped, but well. “Comfortable Numb”, the à la Bee Gees discofized cover version of the pink floyd song, was the B-side at the time, it gave the act the big breakthrough. “Magnifique” is a wonderfully hysterical cover of a disco track from 1979 by the Munich producer Anthony Monn. “Available (for you)” drinks from the Prince Vibe of the early eighties, “Night of the Comet” is reminiscent of Sisters of Mercy in the stanzas.

“Backwoods Discotheque, Pt. II” could be a rural counterpart to Chappell Roans “Pink Pony Club”. And “Take Me Out” also proves how cleverly the Scissor Sisters used in pop repertoire without sounding copies like clumsy. It is a cover version of the Franz-Ferdinand hit, which is cladied in glamorous, held in Elton-John style. Logical that they worked with Elton John shortly afterwards.
