Holla, the forest fairy, blonde! Right at the beginning of I only dream of love, the refrain of “He Ho, Tension on the Car”, which is reduced to ironic, sounds, and then it continues with “Girl Boss”, a track that makes it clear that you cannot simply buy female empowerment.
Yes, it can be seen very quickly what this is about, the annoyance of being in the traditional man/woman system, the wrong in the wrong in the current political system and the right to fun, the right to non-conformism. The only male member of the band, Johann, ironicized many of his gender comrades in “Bare Minimum” who think for feminists: “Very little is more than nothing.” At Blond everything is political. It is cheekily knocked out, which is annoying, runs wrong, what capitalism suggests to all of us. Now one could say that subtle drum texts would be more elegant, but on the other hand: why? Blond crosses your Haudrauflehrock with equally powerful slogans. That goes well.
It always becomes self -reflective when personal experiences are reported, for example when it comes to the failure to help in crisis times, regret the big one (“lilac”). Much of this band is really great and personable. However, the fact that every piece of the same structure follows is annoying. First comes an explanatory and narrative stanza and then the chorus, which optionally hymn or aggro Reinballert. Innovative is different, but again: So what? The last track is again a recessed classic classic from the youth leisure: “All blondinators clap by hand.” Perhaps Blond is about that: celebrating the dance on the volcano.
