Reus involved in five goals: BVB handles Borussia Mönchengladbach

Summary:

A 6-0, which with a bit more bad luck or Gladbach luck can easily end 2-2 or even 2-3 on bad days.

A little longer/my 11 of the game:

(1) Marco Reus finally with an absolute top performance, combative and playful. And with the luck of the fit.
(He’s had good performances lately, of course – but to force happiness in such a way and to convey no doubt through body language/facial expressions, that’s really not normal for him.)

(2) Mats, if you have already publicly recognized and criticized that far too risky passes are one of our defensive problems – then let them be, okay? And give Gregor a beer, without him you would have conceded at least one goal again.

(3) Speaking of Gregor: strong as a buck. I hope that the doubters are slowly realizing that it might not have been the most urgent transfer (keywords “IV, AV, DM”), but a damn good one.
I’m so glad he’s playing for BVB.
With Bürki or Hitz we conceded at least (!) a goal in the first half… and I dare to doubt whether we will win so confidently after a 0-1 draw.

(4) I wish our superiors would finally examine the medical department thoroughly, that’s not normal anymore!
Get well soon Gio, get well soon Daxo!

(5) The entire team (including the substitutes) was fighting three levels above Glasgow – great.

(6) In terms of play and coordination in midfield and in defence, it was again very shaky in the first half.
Only when it was 3-0 and Gladbach gave up was it safer.
With the performance of the first half we never win from clean sheet in Glasgow.

(7) All in all, our victory was at least 3, more like 4 goals too high – but still deserved, that has to be said clearly.
In any case, Gladbach was clearly (!) better over 70 minutes than the result suggests.

(8) Help me keep your fingers crossed for Gio and Daxo – apart from the fact that it would be extremely bitter for both of them to drop out AGAIN, we also need Gio in Glasgow.

(9) @Susi/Kehl: finally bag Kamara (Salzburg), I don’t want to have to endure another season without a reasonable six!
And while you’re at it, Schlotterbeck too, if it’s somehow affordable.

(10) Moukoko with almost half an hour playing time (and a goal!) – great, please keep it up!
The boy needs playtime more than anything.

(11) It was a great game – now please go to Glasgow with the knife between your teeth.
Everything is still in!
And if you’re eliminated, then please at least after you’ve torn yourself up on the pitch for the small miracle that is necessary to progress after this first-leg non-performance.
I’ve been getting the faxes from a BVB who trots across the field like the Ü60 from Niederkaltenkirchen and feels zero interest in the man next to him.
You are BVB, dammit!
