2nd station at home
“If I’ve learned one thing about football, it’s that nothing, absolutely nothing in football, can be planned,” Moritz Bauer (30) told Transfermarkt last November. If the defender was still active at FK Ufa in Russia at the time, he is no longer – the Swiss first division club Servette FC signed the defender and gave him a contract until 2023.
In Russia, where his working paper would have been valid for another year and a half, Bauer has been active since February 2021. The former Austrian national player played 18 games with two goals. For Bauer, Geneva is the second station in his homeland, which he left in 2016 when he left the Grasshoppers. Stations in Russia, England and Scotland followed before the return to Switzerland was sealed.
