Retrospective opens this month in Israel

The Design Museum Holon is opening a retrospective on the late designer Alber Elbaz this month, according to the Israeli museum’s website. The exhibition is entitled “Alber Elbaz: The Dream Factory”.

The museum describes the exhibition as “the most comprehensive exhibition on Israeli designer Alber Elbaz to date”. “A moving and exciting exhibition that pays tribute to his life and work,” says the Design Museum Holon website. The retrospective will be distributed throughout the museum.

The exhibition includes couture pieces, archive pieces, as well as the designer’s personal effects and photos. Items from the tribute to Elbaz “Love Brings Love” will also be on display. Forty-six of the world’s leading fashion houses attended this honor.

The late designer grew up in Holon, a city south of Tel Aviv-Yafo. Alber Elbaz died last year as a result of Covid-19. He was best known to the general public as the creative director of the French fashion house Lanvin. Shortly before his death, the designer created a new brand called AZ Factory in collaboration with the Richemont Group.

The exhibition “Alber Elbaz: The Dream Factory” will open on September 15 this year.
