Reporter Ruben Stiller, 64, will start working at Yle Radio Finland in January.
Stiller will be the new chairman of Radio Suomen’s current affairs program Round Table. Radio Suomi tells about it Facebookon its page.
– Journalist and non-fiction writer Maria Pettersson, who has been piloting the round table for more than a couple of years, is giving up the chairmanship due to her new duties. Stiller will take over the program chairman’s baton shortly after the turn of the year, the release states.
Stiller also commented on his new clothes. He has previously been consulted as a permanent member of the Round Table.
– Regarding the role of the chairman, I state that I am not going to be Kekkonen. Neither does Trump. I follow the principle of the late veteran journalist Larry King: when you’re in the voice yourself, you don’t learn anything, Stiller commented.
Stiller is the program’s Fifth President. The round table discussion program has been made since 2007.
Stiller told Iltalehte at the beginning of the year that he accepted the pension package. The last episode of Stiller’s own talk show will be heard on Yle Radio 1 on Friday, December 19.
Stiller recently commented on Yle’s extensive change negotiations in Suomen kuvalehti.
– I have never been asked for any extension, not of any kind. If you’re asking if it’s taken a toll, I can tell you that it has, Stiller told SK.
Stiller told the magazine that he might not even want to continue at Yle, but would have liked to be asked politely about it. Stiller told his superior about the good audience numbers, but he had been told that they would not solve the work situation.
– I don’t tolerate irrational decisions, so I should leave before I open my head, Stiller said in SK.
Stiller said in the interview that he plans to work on the commercial side in retirement. However, he does not intend to sell them to Yle.
– Why would I do anything here? Stiller reflected in November.
The new season of Yle Radio Suomen’s Round Table program starts on January 14.
