Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui once again demonstrated its outstanding shape with a four-pack at 5-0 at Hellas Verona. The summer access achieved its Serie-A-Tore 17 to 20 this season and increased his lead in the scorer list to five goals. The only serious pursuers are Moise Kean (Florence) with 15 and Marcus Thuram (Inter) with 13 goals.
Thanks to the three, Atalanta with 50 points on the top duo SSC Naples (54 points) and Inter Milan (51) remains. When La Dea Retegui presented on August 8, he came as a replacement for his national teammate Gianluca Scamacca, who was seriously injured at the beginning of the season. The newcomer had a market value of 16 million euros at the time – the transfer was EUR 20.9 million.
Since then he has been climbing to a huge to currently 35 million euros and it was certainly not the end if Retegui continues to benefit from the offensive football of coach Gian Piero Gasperini. In the past five league games he scored eight times and was recently set back in the Squadra Azzurra.
With his four goals against Hellas, he missed a goal to become the second fifter packer of Serie A this millennium. The only one to date is Miroslav Klose who was successful for Lazio in the 2012/13 season. The last players who achieved a four-way pack were inters Lautaro Martínez 2023/24 and Mauro Icardi 2017/18 and Atalantas Duván Zapata 2018/19.
