Retail sales are increasing slightly

Eurozone retail sales rose slightly in October.

Compared to the previous month, they increased by 0.1 percent, as the European statistics office Eurostat announced on Wednesday in Luxembourg. On average, economists had expected a slightly stronger increase of 0.2 percent.

The increase follows a 0.1 percent decline the month before. Due to new data, the previously known minus of 0.3 percent was subsequently corrected. Compared to the same month last year, total revenue in October fell by 1.2 percent. (dpa)
