The retailers in Germany achieved higher sales in June.
Compared to the previous month of May, the proceeds were 1.0 percent adjusted by the price, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office on the basis of preliminary data. The real sales were therefore 4.9 percent higher than a year ago. Including the price increases, the dealers even had 5.8 percent more in the cash register. All values are adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects.
With a price increase of 0.9 percent, the food retail trade was only to a small extent involved in increasing sales. Internet and mail order business increased significantly with an increase of 20.4 percent. The business with non-foods achieved 7.4 percent more than a year earlier in June.
