Residents of Utrechtse Heuvelrug for whom going to a terrace is normally too much of a splurge, will receive help. The municipality gives people with a small budget a voucher of 15 euros per person to visit a catering business in the municipality.
Mayor and aldermen who chose the destination to use remaining corona funds from 2021 that had the same goal. Namely: to support affected groups in society.

The idea is that both people with a small income and catering entrepreneurs have been hit hard by the corona crisis. The first group had to deal with above average isolation and social and economic problems.
A total of 50,000 euros is available. The vouchers are distributed through the same organizations that previously provided face masks and self-tests to people who had no money for them themselves. Starting next month, the participating catering companies can be found on the municipality’s website.
