An armed robbery took place this morning at a house on Weltevredenplein in Haarlem-Noord. The robber entered the house, threatened the residents with what is believed to be a gun and made off with an unknown amount of loot. Police are currently investigating the robbery.
Reporter Marieke Pijlman is on site and says that many emergency services are present. “I count at least eleven police officers and also the Marechaussee.” Ambulance personnel are also at the scene of the robbery.
According to witnesses, the robber first tried to enter another house, but apparently he was in the wrong place. The robber also threatened a handyman working in the neighborhood with a gun.
Perpetrator is wanted
Police also deployed a helicopter to search for the perpetrator. It concerns a man between 20 and 30 years old and about 1.85 meters tall. He was wearing a balaclava, a black coat and black gloves. Anyone who has seen anything or has CCTV footage is asked to contact the police.
