At least four residents of the Primulaplein in Schijndel have received a ticket for fault parking in their own street. To tackle the parking nuisance through Paaspop visitors, Boas carried out checks in the various streets and on the squares near the entrance of the festival site. In addition, residents were also given the great anger fines under their wiper.

Although there are signs on all the approach roads of the neighborhood that it is only accessible to destination traffic, the streets and squares are completely full of festival -goers cars. “They are people who come here more often and know the way,” says a local resident. “I had to put my car in the driveway of the neighbor, because the entire swimming pool road was completely full last night. Fortunately I didn’t get a ticket.”

“Why don’t residents get a ticket or sticker, so it is clear that we belong here?”

The situation is comparable on Primulaplein, a little further into the neighborhood. There are two more cars with a ticket under the wiper. “At least five residents were fined here, because they could not park their car properly. Why don’t residents get a ticket or sticker, so it is clear that we belong here?”, Nicole wonders.

Her neighbor, who wants to stay anonymous, works in healthcare: “I came home last night and couldn’t get rid of my car anywhere. Normally we can park here with two wheels on the sidewalk, but now cars who did that have also received a ticket.” Petra from the Leliestraat is also annoyed by the crowds: “As a resident you really have a problem. The crowds starts on Friday afternoon and continues until Paaspop has ended. Even quick shopping is difficult, because when you come back, there is no more room and you have to walk home far.”

“My neighbor also received a fine, while she doesn’t lose her car anywhere.”

“Because there are no places, we are forced to park on the sidewalk or on the grass. Of course it has to be maintained, but we are now also being the victim,” says Nicole. “My neighbor has also been fined, and that is very sad. She couldn’t get rid of her car anywhere, because it was completely full here. From Thursday afternoon the square here is completely full every day. Visitors should park where it belongs, not in the middle of our neighborhood. We are seriously hindered by this.”

The parking problems in the Bloemenwijk have the full attention of both the municipality and the organization of Paaspop. The municipality and the police continue to maintain fault parkers. “The residents experience nuisance from the parking public visitors. We have discussed with them that we are going to maintain so we will,” says a spokesperson for the municipality on Sunday.

“Unfortunately, experience shows that visitors and residents simply ignore or put off signs and deposits,” the municipality said earlier in a response.
