Residents of Ruinen fear that they are slowly being surrounded by bulb fields. With the use of agricultural land on, among others, the Achterma and Huttenweg through lily growers, the unrest among local residents grows for the use of pesticides. Agricultural soil is used around Ruinen by the companies Joling and Seubring.
