The Kliko will be delivered later this year. The municipality emphasizes that it cannot simply be refused: “This roll container belongs to your house”, can be read in the letter. The municipality will also take to the streets soon to hand out GFT trays for the kitchen.
Failed attempts
The separation of organic waste is done much less in Amsterdam than in the rest of the Netherlands. Different attempts by the municipality did not yield anything or did not last, partly because other waste often intervened. This makes the compost that is made of GFT less usable.
The municipality is working on a catch -up district and it is intended that GFT is collected throughout the city. This is already happening in East and Southeast, among others.
