A garbage dump. That was the sight for residents of Willem van Noortlaan and Keldermansstraat in Eindhoven for some time this Friday. The load of a garbage truck had caught fire at the beginning of the evening. In consultation with the fire brigade it was decided to dump and extinguish the content on the street. That was accompanied by the necessary smell for some time.
The garbage collectors were just emptying underground containers with residual waste in the neighborhood when a dirty, gray and smelly smoke rose.
When the fire brigade arrived, it was decided to dump the load in the middle of the street. Soon flames became visible and the fire could be extinguished. The fire brigade used a fire cannon, one of which was provided with the fire trucks.
The job was done within half an hour.
In the meantime, the street was full of waste for a while and that was easy to smell. The police have dropped the place with a ribbon and it will stay that way until the Mount Waste will be cleared up by waste processor Cure and the municipality later this Friday evening.
