Researchers estimate that there are 2.5 million ants for every human on Earth

The world population will exceed 8 billion in the coming months. Compared to ants, that’s just a “cute milestone.” Researchers have made the most thorough assessment yet of the global ant population, and the estimated total is a mind-boggling 20 quadrillion, or about 2.5 ant million for every human.
