On a field near Nieuwlande today are still the debris of the plane that crashed there yesterday. Extensive research has been conducted at the location and that investigation is not yet ready for the time being, a spokesperson for the national unit of the police said.
It is expected that that investigation will take at least a few more days.
Due to an unknown cause, the small plane crashed on the field on the Brouwerswijk. The two passengers, a 67-year-old man from Hoogeveen and a 56-year-old man from Drachten, were killed.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is done by the aviation police that falls under the national unit. According to a spokesperson, the investigation focuses on the device itself, the flight movements and the hearing of possible witnesses. He cannot say how long the device will remain in the field near Nieuwlande.
