Rescuers rescue puppy from rubble in Donetsk

The area, which lies in the east of the country, has been bombed by Russian missiles. Things have been unsettled in Donetsk for some time as the leaders are at loggerheads with the government. They want to be independent.

Pets in the war

For many people it is hard to imagine what it is like when your hometown is under attack. Let alone that not a stone of your house remains, that you lose loved ones and lose your pets. Or pets their owners, such as this Japanese Akita dog that has been waiting for her possibly deceased owner for weeks. Heartbreaking.

Puppy rescued

Shortly after the village is in ruins due to a bombardment, the aid workers arrive. When they hear something crying, they decide to dig in the rock remains. They probably shouldn’t have arrived much later, or the puppy would have ended badly. They then do a fantastic job with their hands, because they actually manage to free the puppy from the rubble. Gasping for breath, the creature emerges from under the stones and dust. “He’s alive!” you hear the men shouting enthusiastically. And: “He needs water.”

77-year-old owner reunited with puppy

As if that wasn’t nice enough, you can also see how the dog is reunited with its 77-year-old owner. “Thank you for your quick action”, you hear him thank the rescuers. The exact condition of the animal is unknown. In any case, he is still visibly shivering in the arms of his owner. What a little warrior. Watch the images in the video below
