Many GPs are in telephone strike, now that they are no longer allowed to charge teleconsults. The costs got out of hand, also because some doctors were very creative with the system. For example, a doctor charged 11,000 teleconsults in one year. “We are all shocked by that flagrant abuse,” says Linde Telley (47), the doctor of the year. She tells how she looks at the situation. “I believe that 99 percent of general practitioners and specialists deal with this correctly.”
