TEHRAN/LUZERNE (dpa-AFX) – According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Iranian delegation in Bürgenstock protested against the latest threats from US President Donald Trump. According to the English-language state broadcaster Press TV, the Iranian delegation is now examining an appropriate response.

According to Tasnim, threats under the US-Iran agreement are also considered a violation that entitles Tehran to respond. In fact, both agree in the agreement to refrain from attacks and threats.

Shortly afterwards, the Iranian news agency Isna reported that the meeting between Iran, the USA, Pakistan and Qatar was interrupted after 80 minutes for internal discussions. Representatives of the Iranian delegation have not yet officially commented on this.

On Sunday afternoon, US President Donald Trump sent threats towards Tehran. Iran must immediately stop its “highly paid proxies” in Lebanon from causing unrest, he wrote on his Truth Social platform. “If they don’t do that, we’re going to hit Iran very hard again,” Trump said. Trump told Fox News that he had sent Iran an urgent warning about the Strait of Hormuz. “If you close them, you won’t have a country anymore,” Trump was quoted as saying by Fox News. “You won’t even be able to return to your damn country.”
