Reporting points for mud on the road in Damme and Knokke-Heist

Every year, the province of West Flanders organizes the ‘Mud on the Road’ campaign, with the call to polluters to always clean the road immediately. These are often tractors that have driven from the field onto the road. But mud on the road makes it slippery.

The Damme/Knokke-Heist police zone will therefore carry out extra checks. “In both Damme and Knokke-Heist, we will actively search for roads polluted by agricultural activities, construction and road works in the coming weeks,” said spokeswoman Isolde Van Eenooghe. “We track down the polluter to make the road safe again together.”

There will also be two reporting points, in Damme and Knokke-Heist: you can report a polluted road until the end of December. The police will then track down the polluter. “If it is not possible to clean the road immediately, the polluter will place a traffic sign to warn other road users of the unsafe traffic situation. The polluter can request the signs by telephone during opening hours and then collect them at the reporting centre.”
