Report: Takefusa Kubo leaves Real Madrid firmly for Real Sociedad

Including buyback option

In 2019, Takefusa Kubo switched from FC Tokyo to Real Madrid as an 18-year-old talent and has called the “Royal” his regular club ever since. The Japanese was not used in the three years, instead he was parked in a total of four loans from three different LaLiga competitors. This summer, according to the “Marca” the next exit within the Spanish top flight, this time as a permanent transfer. The Spanish champion leaves a door open in this case as well.

According to the report, Kubo will soon switch to Real Sociedad and sign a contract with sixth-placed last season until 2027. For the offensive player, “La Real” would be the seventh club at the age of 21, after playing in Japan for the Yokohama F. Marinos alongside Tokyo and in Spain for the loan stations RCD Mallorca, FC Villarreal and FC Getafe.

The Real Madrid chapter is imperatively closed for Kubo, whose market value has fallen from 30 million to 7.5 million euros in the last two years, but not yet. According to “Marca”, the Galactics still own 50 percent of the rights to the 1.73 meter left foot and could bring him back for a reported 10 million euros. The report does not reveal how much will be earned from the sale to the Basque Country this summer.
