It has long been openly communicated that Niklas Süle, Salih Özcan and Julian Brandt will no longer be available to Borussia Dortmund in the future. Süle will end his career after his contract expires on June 30th, Brandt and Özcan, whose working papers are also expiring, will attempt a new start away from BVB. Even a talented quartet should have no future with the Black and Yellows.

Diant Ramaj, Kjell Wätjen, Cole Campbell and Julien Duranville, who were recently awarded, are expected to turn their backs on BVB again and possibly permanently in the summer. This is what the “kicker” reports.

Accordingly, the departure of all four youngsters is “likely”. However, according to the trade magazine, the Ruhr area should strive to retain access rights wherever possible. In the event of a farewell, buyback clauses or at least resale shares should supposedly be agreed.

In any case, a loan turnaround should be planned in Dortmund in the future. Instead of waiting for offers as before, we want to actively offer the players who we can imagine saying goodbye to for a while to supposedly suitable clubs.

The main goal should be to significantly increase the permeability to professional football. There have definitely been deficits here in recent years. In 2025/26, however, the two 18-year-old Italians Samuele Inacio and Luca Reggiani were able to make an impression.

BVB trio disappoints with loan stations

However, the loans from Wätjen, Campbell, Duranville and Ramaj were by no means all a success. Only Ramaj was able to consistently demonstrate his class at 1. FC Heidenheim. The 24-year-old keeper will probably leave, as he would only be number two at BVB behind Gregor Kobel, but has bigger ambitions.

Wätjen (at VfL Bochum), Campbell (at TSG Hoffenheim) and Duranville (FC Basel), on the other hand, were too rarely convincing to be in position for a place in Borussia’s professional squad.

The “kicker” also has a surprise in store in this context: There is said to be great interest in the 20-year-old Campbell, who only made six short appearances for Hoffenheim. People in Kraichgau are also apparently thinking about buying something. There is said to be a purchase option for seven million euros, but the TSG is simply too high.
