Report: Eintracht Frankfurt lends Ngankam to Mainz

The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Clubs can sign new players until February 1, 2024.

The most important things at a glance

Who will FC Bayern bring in to strengthen their defense? Will striker Serhou Guirassy stay at VfB Stuttgart? And who does Union Berlin want to shoot itself out of the basement with? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important rumors and changes from Germany and the world.

Ngankam is leaving Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt is apparently lending striker Jessic Ngankam. The 23-year-old will play for local rivals Mainz 05 until the end of the season, Sky reported on Wednesday evening. Confirmation from both clubs is still pending.

Ngankam played in a total of 23 competitive games for the SGE this season, scoring three goals and mostly coming on as a substitute. The attacker only moved from Hertha BSC to Hessen for 4 million euros in the summer.

Meanwhile, the SGE also lends Jens Petter Hauge to his home club FK Bodo/Glimt. The Norwegian football champions have secured the services of the 24-year-old national player until December 31st and also have a purchase option, as the Hessian Bundesliga club announced.

In total, Hauge, who initially came on loan from top Italian club AC Milan in the summer of 2021, played 55 competitive games for Eintracht. He scored three goals and prepared five more. He was substituted on ten times in the league this season.

Bremen is strengthening

Werder Bremen have signed French midfielder Skelly Alvero from Olympique Lyon on loan until the end of the season. Werder also has a purchase option for the 21-year-old in the summer. “He is a very interesting player who now has the opportunity to develop further with us,” said Clemens Fritz, Bremen’s head of professional football.

According to head coach Ole Werner, Alvero could “take over both the offensive and defensive roles in midfield”. They will “meet together in the summer” and decide “whether we will use the purchase option,” said Fritz. Alvero scored one goal for Lyon in eight league games this season.

VfB Stuttgart is probably negotiating with the national player

VfB Stuttgart could score a real coup shortly before the end of the transfer window. As the pay TV broadcaster Sky reports, the Swabians are in contact with the Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. VfB would like to sign Mahmoud Dahoud from the “Seagulls”.

This is supposed to be a six-month loan with an option to buy. Dahoud only moved to England from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The 28-year-old has also appeared twice for the German national team.

Schalke before signing right-back

FC Schalke will probably get reinforcements again in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga. Brandon Soppy will be in charge of the Royal Blues’ right defense in the future. This is what transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports.

The French-Ivorian defensive player is said to be on the way to Gelsenkirchen to complete the medical check. Soppy is under contract with Atalanta Bergamo, but was most recently loaned out to Torino FC. According to the report, the deal is a loan.

BVB professional probably shortly before the change

After four years, Giovanni Reyna and Borussia Dortmund are parting ways for the time being. It was recently reported that the 21-year-old would be moving to Nottingham Forest. Now the transfer is said to be close to completion and the attacking midfielder is on his way to England.

This is what Sky reports. Reyna should complete the medical check with the Premier League club soon. The BVB player should therefore move to Nottingham Forest on loan. According to the TV station, the club will cover the salary. Contrary to what Sky first reported, Nottingham Forest should not receive a purchase option after all. BVB is said to have even extended Reyna’s contract by one year until 2026. Here you can read more about it.
